Jen "Steel" Johnson Biography
Jen "Steel" Johnson graduated with a B.S. in Biochemistry from Washington State University and received her MBA from Colorado State University. She is a former F-16 fighter pilot and a current entrepreneur in the aviation industry.
Johnson has accumulated over 1700 flight hours in the F-16, including 100 combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, earning her 5 aerial achievement medals. Her military service was marked by roles such as Mission Commander and Forward Air Controller, coordinating air-to-air and air-to-ground kinetic strikes with multiple joint services and international allies. Her exceptional leadership in executing the $11 million deployment of her 16-member, 12 jet squadron to Afghanistan earned her the Wing’s Company Grade Officer of the Year award. Johnson was also selected into the F-16 instructor cadre, dedicating the last four years of her active duty to training new pilots in the tactics, techniques, and procedures of the F-16.
Johnson currently resides in Walla Walla, WA, where she is the founder and CEO of a flight school. She is also active as a youth motivational speaker, leveraging her extensive experience to inspire the next generation.
